When he was in the hospital recovering, Dad still had that same crazy independent determination he's always had. I remember just after I snapped this while he was getting cleaned up for the first time in days, I got this really good feeling he was going to be allright.

Dad is cancer free today...and also, 70 years old. Happy birthday, Pops.

Even if there's ugliness on the inside sometimes, I have to admit that my office building is aesthetically pleasing. Our company got a really good deal on it as it was built at the beginning of the dot bomb. Side note: The office park must spend 10 million dollars a year on landscaping. This place makes my dad's well manicured suburban yards look like astroturf.

Strangely enough, I even felt like half of a person while riding the MetroLink out to Lambert Airport that afternoon, as I had a monster headache. I like this picture because it reminds me of two things: 1) When you'd get a double exposure on old cameras because the film didn't advance, or 2) When Bruce Banner becomes the Hulk, and his images are superimposed for that brief second.
